We are to be occupied with the Lord's business until He comes.  Moreover, we are stewards of the Lord's resources and will be held accountable for our stewardship when He returns.  As stewards, we are to be found faithful in carrying out assignments, the business the Lord has given us to do.   The Lord's business, given to us in the Great Commission is to equip those who are saved to do the work of the ministry.  The specific business God has called us to do will depend on the gifts, talents and opportunities He has given us.

Our assignment includes the work or vocation to which he has called us and through which we are to shine as lights in a dark world.  Both in our jobs and in our lives, we are to be living letters from the Lord that everyone can read.  Through our work and our words, we are to be witnesses for the Lord Jesus Christ.  Like the Lord Jesus when he was in the temple at twelve years of age, we must be about our father's business; we must apply ourselves and redeem the time, all the more as we see the day of Christ's return approaching.  Amen.
