Fall Fresh On Me

God has blessed us to see a New Year! Happy 2012! This is the time many of us make New Year resolutions. We promise to lose weight, exercise, stop smoking, be more patient and loving -- the list could go on and on. My question is how many of us resolve to ask that the Holy Spirit become a deeper part of our lives?

It’s a very simple task, all we need to say is Holy Spirit fall fresh on me! We have just come out of the Christmas season. After the Christmas programs, gift buying, putting up and taking down decorations, travel, over eating, etc. there is no better time, in fact it is necessary, to have our spirits and our bodies refreshed.

It’s difficult, if not impossible, to get caught up in the hustle and bustle of our daily lives all year long. But, some days we need to stop whatever we are doing and just look to heaven and say Holy Spirit fall fresh on me!

Think of how beautiful the snow looks when it softly and quietly falls to the ground. We know that only God can make that happen. Likewise, only God can plant the Holy Spirit in our hearts and minds. God only requires that we ask in the name of Jesus whatever we desire for our lives.

As long as we are here on earth we are going to have challenges, pain, sorrow and disappointments. But, it is so good to know that if we say to the Holy Spirit, fall fresh on me we will have the strength and power to keep going in spite of what we are going through. There is a gospel song titled “In the middle of it” we still need to thank God and just say Holy Spirit fall fresh on me.

Take a moment right now -- close your eyes and say Holy Spirit fall fresh on me. He will do it because Jesus said He was leaving the Holy Spirit here with us. Let this be your most enduring resolve, not just for the New Year, but every year for the rest of your life.
