A Word from the PastorWhat is a Friend? Proverbs 18:24A man who has friends must himself be friendly, but there is a Friend who sticks closer than a brother.
One releationship that parallels all other human relationships is that of friends. Husbands and wives may be friends; parents and children may be friends; employers and employees may be friends and even politicians and their constituents may be friends. Finally, and most pervasively, two individuals may be friends who have no other relationship to one another. The Bible teaches certain principles about friendship. If we want to have friends, we must be a friend, meaning caring for, showing an interest in, and spending time with others. It means sharing thoughts and innermost feelings with that person. Friendship is a reciprocal relationship. True friends always seek what is in the other person's best interest. As Christians, we should demonstrate to our friends all the dimensions of friendship through in the word of God giving to others as well as receiving from others.
