Rev. Jerry Commander

Minister Jerry Commander was born in Sumter South Carolina. He is married to the love of his life Doris Commander. He attended, Mt. Pleasant High School in Elliott, SC. He went on to attend Voorhees College in Denmark, SC graduating with a B.S. degree in Organizational Management. Minister Commander is a member of Poplar Spring Missionary Baptist Church in Simpsonville, SC where the pastor is, Dr. Vardy Freeman.He is currently studying at N.J. Brockman School of Theology Seminary. He gives all praises and glory to Lord and Savior Jesus the Christ. He has five children’s and fourteen grandchildren.

His motto is, I can do all things through Christ which strengthens me.

Rev. Johnny Luster

Rev. Johnny Luster  was born to J.D. and Alberta Luster on February 7, 1948 in Fountain Inn, SC. He graduated from Bryson High School in 1966. Rev. Luster married Janice Yarbrough Luster in 1970 and has four daughters, nine grandchildren, and three great grandchildren. He is also a foster parent and adopted one daughter.

Rev. Luster retired from R & L Carriers after 15 years of service. He preached his initial sermon October 19, 1978 at the Center Rabon Baptist Church. His favorite scripture is John 3:16

Rev. Edwina D. Perrin is an ordained minister who serves as an Associate Minister Poplar Spring Missionary Baptist Church of Simpsonville SC where the Senior Pastor is Dr. Vardry A. Freeman. She also serves as Christian Education Director of Poplar Spring. She is an Amazon best-seller author of Fear to Freedom and the founder of Divine In God Ministries, LLC. She is an anointed teacher, intercessor, and preacher. Her passion for clear and biblically sound teachings has led her to develop over fifty Christian Curriculum. Rev. Perrin released her second book project called When CEOs Pray…Your 12 Month Devotional in 2019.
She released her third book Oh How We Love Our Sons on November 28th, 2020.
She is the pioneer of the “Passionate about Pink” Luncheon. This luncheon was created in memory of her mother, Hildreth S. Perrin, who worked with the American Cancer Society, Best Chance Network. Her mom saved many women’s lives over the course of 25 years by referring them for free mammograms and pap smears.
Her favorite verse is Psalm 126:3“The Lord has done great things for us, and we are filled with joy.”

Minister Pearl Turner

Minister Pearl Turner was born in Pocahontas, Mississippi and was raised in Green County, Alabama. She is the daughter of Annie and Lewis Randolph.
Minister Turner retired from CMP Media, Inc. in 1997 after 24 years of service. During her career at CMP she held the positions of Corporate Vice President and Treasurer, Director of CMP Employee Community Outreach Committee and Treasurer of CMP Foundation.

Minister Turner is married to Deacon Morris Turner and they have two children, Morris Ralik Turner and Denise Turner Moleah, and seven grandchildren. She is formerly from Long Island, NY and relocated to Greenville, SC in June, 2004. At her former church First Baptist Church of Westbury, Long Island, NY she served in the capacities of; Sunday school teacher, deaconess, Director of Vacation Bible School, and Financial Advisor. Minister Turner and her husband became members of Poplar Spring Baptist Church in January, 2005 where she continued her service as a deaconess. She accepted her calling to the Ministry in September, 2006 and she preached her initial sermon at PSBC on Sunday, May 27, 2007

Rev. Phillip Woodward

Phillip was born in Aiken, SC April 11, 1958 to the late Ernest and Marie Woodward. He is a 1976 graduate of Aiken High School, Aiken, SC. He is married to Linda Woodward. He is the father of four children and 12 grandchildren. Phillip is employed at International Paper, Laurens, SC.

Phillip was licensed to preach on January 17, 2015, at Poplar Spring Missionary Baptist Church, Simpsonville, SC, under the study and leadership of Rev. Dr. Vardry Freeman (Senior Pastor). Phillip is currently the Youth Pastor at Poplar Spring and is passionate about ministering to the youth and children. Phillip also serves as an Associate Minister, Treasurer of the Associate Minister’s Council, sings on the Men’s Choir; is a member of the Men’s Ministry; and a member of the Pastor’s Aid Committee.

Phillip received his Evangelist Certification on December 21, 2012 from the Miracle Temple of Deliverance, Aiken, SC, under the study and leadership of Reverend Aaron Woodward. He was awarded the Diploma of Graduate Theology: Biblical Studies from the Wilmington School of the Bible of Liberty University, Lynchburg, Virginia on July 25, 2014.

Out of his vision, Phillip and Linda founded the Emmanuel Evangelistic Help Ministry (EEHM) in January 2012. Through their ministry they have collected bags of love for homebound seniors in Laurens County, SC; sponsored a coat and blanket drive for the needy and less fortunate and donated these to God’s Pantry in Fountain Inn, SC; sponsored a battery drive for toys for the Lauren’s County Sheriff’s Dept.; collected school supplies for the Poplar Spring Missionary Baptist Church Back to School Drive; donated car washes for the Men’s Ministry of Poplar Spring Missionary Baptist Church for church renovations; collects donations for cards for the sick and bereaved through International Paper Company. Through this ministry Phillip also provides car detailing services. His vision is to one day turn this small operation into a successful small business.

Minister Woodward is currently involved with the prison ministry at the Livesay B Camp Facility of the South Carolina Department of Corrections, Spartanburg County, SC working along with the First Assembly of God, Greenville, SC.
